What is CAMMERA? CAMMERA stands for The Circle of Amateur Movie Makers Equipment and Resource Alliance. The Group was founded by a small number of individuals who knew they wanted to make films, but weren't sure how or why or even when. Together CAMMERA grew and learned from experience and classes into a formitable body of young filmmakers. From the original 9 founding members, 8 remain with the group to this day. This website was designed to allow young filmmakers in the Philidelphia area get in contact with other youngsters like themselves, learn a little about the business of movie making, and have an opportunity to star or write their own motion pictures. With that in mind, we ask schools and parents not to block or otherwise censor this site. Its purpose is only to allow young people access to others like them.
Why join CAMMERA?
CAMMERA is only as good as its members. As our name suggests, we do not offer leadership so much as we offer a collective of knowledge and equipment for all to share. Each member of the group brings something that the other members may not have. Whether it is knowledge, ideas, or a tripod, the group counts on productive and useful members to continue its legacy of filmmaking. Within the coming year, CAMMERA will experience a shift in leadership to allow for fresh outlooks and fresh ideas. There has never been a better time to join. The original nine members will be going off to college, and if replacement leadership is not found, the group will die. Pivotal to the group's survival is interest from the community. The more people that sign up to be part of the group's programs, the better the chance this will NOT be the final year of the CAMMERA group's 3 year legacy.
How can I help?
As we have said, joining is probably the best way to assist the CAMMERA group. Donations are always welcome, and inquiries should be directed to CAMMERA Leadership. In addition, there are available several promotional posters that can be printed and distributed wherever you care to put them. We appreciate your support of our cause.

What's New on the Website
Photo Gallery: This new section includes screen shots from the original series of 1984 films: 1984, 1984: Final Cut, and 1984: The Two Minutes Hate. Also included are a couple of frames from the new summer camp videos and a host of graphical tidbits from our CG master, Peter Balderston.
Desktop Theme: This is a work in progress. Right now, clicking the link will download a ZIP file which contains a JPEG for your windows background. Coming soon: an entire theme, complete with sound and cursors! If you should happen to have anything better than this background, mail it to the new background workshop.
The Making of a Greenscreen Shot: This is an interesting series of pictures (before and after) that detail how a greenscreen shot is composed. The frames you see are the product of some considerable effort on Peter's part, but these shot were actually rejected due to an unreasonalble amount of "green bleed" (green outlines on actors). Viewers should be forewarned that the scenes depicted feature some violence.
Surveys Galore! Take a handful of surveys about your favorite stuff - and find out how other people voted. This week's featured surveys: Favorite Actor and Favorite Movie! Surveys were created using freeware CGI. Check the website FAQ for details.
